"I liked the book more." We have all pronounced this phrase sometime, after watching a movie based on a novel we already knew. On the other hand, many times we have seen the movie first and then read the book that inspired it, and we have almost never said: “I liked the movie more,” although we have thought about it. Deep down, we see cinema as a minor art that appropriates great works to betray or diminish them.
