The article comments on recent research by McCaffree and Saide based on a self-administered questionnaire that finds a high prevalence of psychiatric symptoms in the U.S. population, but without a correlation with real symptoms. It is proposed that awareness about mental health issues favors the identification of normal emotions as pathological.
