This article is about the day-to-day life of a choir, the requirements for singing, the attitudes that are demanded, the many aspects that have to be taken into account beyond the strictly musical and, of course, the psychophysical benefits of choral singing. Singing makes us happier, but the way to sing better and better is long and laborious. Individual singing has its particularities and collective singing has others, although both coincide in the need for work, rigor and positive attitude. Some aspects of choral life that are reviewed are: the existence of many choirs and their diversity, the importance of vocal technique, the different phases of a rehearsal, the different responsibilities of the choral director, the lack of male voices, the need to attend rehearsals, the benefits of singing as an element that generates personal and collective satisfaction, the colour of each voice or the criteria for choosing the right repertoire.
