IS IT GOOD TO BE A KING?
With the idea of questioning the best quality of life that the aristocracy enjoyed in the past, we looked out to a disease that seemed to be baited with special resentment in the members of that group: the gout. To do so, we are going to follow the disease progression until the moment of the death of one of the most important characters of the period, the king Felipe II, and in the process, we take the opportunity to review the medical theories of the moment, the diagnostic and treatment methods, as well as the role played by the galenos and their consideration in society.
