A third of Mozart's 35 years were spent travelling. First came the tours in which his
father presented him as a child prodigy, and then came the professional trips to find a well-paid
job. Finally, when he settled in Vienna, he made several trips to premiere his pieces in more or
less distant cities. Reviewing the music he composed on each of these journeys brings us a little
closer to understanding the work of one of humanity's greatest geniuses: which musicians
influenced him, why he did not get the desired position at a European court, what it meant to be
commissioned to compose an opera and, of course, what it was like to travel in the 18th century.
The article is divided into four sections: the grand European tour of the child prodigy, the trips to
Italy of the teenager, the trip to Paris of the adult Mozart and includes 17 musical auditions
proposals.
