Set in a rural town of the tropical coast of Ecuador, this unhurried and moving story places the reader in the face of the depths and despair of an old, indestructible and unique love that a young woman with Down Syndrome (Esthelita) has kept since she was a child towards a neighbor of her age (Vicente), who decided to move away from the town. In addition, she now suffers the ravages of leukemia, that make it impossible for her to endure the loneliness and pain, despite the care and solidarity of her parents and neighbors who accompany her until her final delirium.
