Ethics of Care, FeminismAbstract
The ethic of care arises from the recognition of the vulnerability and the dependence of the humans at the time when they can't take care of themselves and they need others help to live on a well-being situation. This article connects the ethical dimension of care with how caring it's been carried out. Women have taken care of themselves and the others at home and at work. The main factors and dimensions that create the ethics of care are created from a feminist and a nursing perspective of caring and from the recent contributions of the social theory of care. The ethical value of care is presented as a key to find answers to ethical questions and dilemmas of today's society, providing a frame of reference and a way of acting to apply universal principles into real situations, and to reformulate the universal principles according to the concrete situations.
