Feminist philosophies have placed the ethical and political question of care and the ontological condition of vulnerability at the center of the philosophical debate. This article has the purpose of linking the reflection on the care to the problem of damage. Evil is the scandal of thought, that which is not allowed to think without falling into the danger of trivialization or justification. However, if we want to understand violence and our relationship with its consequences on life, we must face the always open and concrete possibility that we have to do and harm ourselves. For this, in this article, we have addressed a reflection, that of Paul Ricoeur on evil, and a situation: the one presented by Georg Büchner in the dramatic piece The Death of Danton. It invites us to think about the radical situation of the revolution as a political realization of virtue through an unstoppable chain of damage committed. How to cross this paradox?
