Abstract

Some people that the moral evolution of human beings is to live up to the challenges posed by the application of scientific advances. I am not of this opinion but it seems clear that today, more than ever, the boundary between what we can do, (the application of scientific knowledge),  and what we have to do, (what dictates our conscience), is more imprecise, more full of doubts and  questions difficult to answer. Where is the limit of genetic modification? Will we accept genetic modifications for therapeutic purposes? And if so, why not to apply it to improve our physical and intellectual capacities? Analysis and responses to these and other questions lead us to the possibility of dialogue between science and ethics, between technology and the humanities.
