The doctor's way of looking at his patient, deep respect for his person, placing him at the center of the conversation and remaining as a health professional intellectually around him, is the communication proposal that began to be developed theoretically around the middle of the XX century and that at present shows a multitude of literature and quality research that allows us to ensure that "patient-centered communication" is a model that has demonstrated sufficient evidence of utility to improve the health of patients. This style can be learned if it is internalized, thus helping doctors and other health professionals to perform their work in a more efficient and satisfactory way.
