The clinical interview is the most powerful tool of a family doctor to play his role and respond to the patients´ needs with the best scientific, technical knowledge and an understanding of human relationships. Family medicine seeks to integrate the human and the technical, the communication and the clinical reasoning. The interview is where the doctor-patient relationship is developed, becoming an experience of mutual learning. The diagnosis is codified in the narrative and our task as family doctors is not to diagnose what type of disease the patient has, but to enter into the patient´s private life, without judging him and to be able to understand how the patient lives each one of these alterations that, somehow or other, affect his physical, psychic and social welfare.
