Abstract

When the body is not an end in itself but is conceived at the service of the spirit, magical
things occur: an inguinal hernia with deadly risk of peritonitis transforms into the duende of a
cantaor. A life lesson for medical science and all those who put the value of the body above
the choice of transforming life into an act of creation, musical or otherwise.
Another way of seeing the illness of the body: a mere symptom of the soul that only a free
man or woman can save.
