The challenge of providing affordable housing and the measures to tackle it

Abstract

The implacable landing of the commonly named collaborative housing has strongly bursted into the major European and Spanish cities, where it has had a strong impact on the residential sector, contributing to underline the so-called housing crisis. This paper analyzes the housing situation in various European capitals and in the main Spanish cities and describes the measures adopted by
local and regional authorities to mitigate the negative effects of tourism gentrification.
